Ancestors By the River - Art Showcase

On a simmering late summer day, two Artists, Ebele Chizea (that's me on the bottom left) and Odi Oquosa, converged in Harlem by the River Hudson on 145th and Riverside Drive to contemplate by the water's edge. It was then an idea was born. Ancestors by the River, an event which brought friends and strangers alike, was nothing short of sublime. In a reverent state, a stone and stick structure was erected as people moved to adorn it. The result was a piece of artwork in honor of the ancestors; the Native American ancestors, the African American ancestors and the European ancestors who were instrumental in abolishing the slave trade.
