Brian Angel On Making The Band 4, Diddy and More!

We fell in love with the charismatic and talented Brian Angel on Diddy’s 2007 MTV reality tv show, Making The Band 4 where he became part of the winning group, Day 26. The group went on to record three albums; Day 26, Forever In A Day and A New Day before breaking up in 2012 and reuniting once more for a reunion tour. In 2017 Brian released a solo mixtape, Daybreak: The Appetizer. Recently  he and I had a conversation about different topics from his Nigerian heritage, reality tv, Diddy, his controversial split from Day 26 (again) and future music endeavors.

On His Nigerian Heritage
To all my Nigerian or Naija folks, yes oh, Brian Angel is of Nigerian heritage! He takes pride in his identity and loves to represent the community especially in New York City where he resides.

On Making The Band 4
When asked about his experience he said it was a good one and that he learned a lot about hard work  from Diddy.

On Day 26
Anyone who follows Brian Angel knows of his recent split with the group Day 26 and the uproar it caused among fans. Brian’s take on the issue? It wasn’t personal. He did it because it felt right and wishes his former bad members nothing but the best!

On Diddy and The Reunion Tour Drama
In 2016 Diddy organized a Badboy  reunion tour. Notable groups were included except for Day 26, it seemed. This did not sit well with the very outspoken Brian who immediately went to twitter and called out Diddy for the omission. He later retracted his statements and when asked about it admitted he was “in his feelings” at the time. He added he has nothing but respect for Diddy and admitted the reunion tour was aimed at specific groups. Omitting Day 26 was not intentional.

On Future Music
About his future projects, he says the best is yet to come.  Follow Brian @Iambrianangel on Instagram and Twitter to see sneak peaks and more!
